He got his degree from Full Sail University for film degree in 2005. One important event that started his surrealistic photography was the 365 day project where he shot a pic each day for a year. Style: His photography style is aiming towards surrealism/fantasy. He's going for an imaginative humor and perspective-distorting compositions. He also seems to have a bit of a hipster vibe as well with his photographs. Philosophy: His images are trying covey isolation but also a surreal side of child-rearing. They were mainly personal and social influences on his photography. He takes his viewers on an adventure that exhibits a great sense of imagination. Influences: I honestly like surreal/fantasy photos because they are unique and intriguing to the eye. I also like photoshopping images sometimes and Logan Zillmer does as well. He has a peculiar style in his photos and it seems like he adds a hipster vibe to them, and that the "hipster" style is what I've been fascinated in lately. Compare and Contrast: Both our photographs are surreal/fantasy. We both used photoshop to edit our photographs as well. The few differences in our photographs is that there are different objects in each and our story telling in our photographs are different as well. Overall, we give our viewers a sense of imagination, reflections, and awe. Personal Artist Statement: In my images, I'm trying to convey that everyone should have a bit of adventure in their lives. In my "No Sledding" photograph, it consists of depth, background, experimentation, and viewpoints. The story behind "No Sledding" is that rules can be broken so it started to rain sleds while this person atop of the hill watches while carrying an umbrella hoping to shield themselves from the sleds. In my "Stress" photograph, it consists of depth, experimentation, leading lines, and background. The story behind "Stress" is that lot's of adults and students go through this feeling and that they should really take a breather some time and go outside for some fresh air, hence my photo was taken outside. In my "Adventures in a Kitchen" photograph, it consists of depth, pattern, experimentation, and background. The story behind "Adventures in a Kitchen" is that people shouldn't just stay stuck in their little house holds! They should explore the world that's out there to get more experiences and gather memories to maybe bring home and tell others. |
